A manatee is the “Oceans Cow,” these large water dwelling animals weigh over a thousand pounds and move around on a single, large and flat fin. Manatees are commonly compared to elephants, because of their size and enormous size! However, these animals are quickly becoming extinct as boats and fisherman accidently find themselves directly injuring these animals or destroying their environments. The manatee is naturally attracted to warm water, and around Tampa’s electric plant the water is constantly warmed.
